Our umbrella association SACCI consists of five Cultural and Creative Industry (CCI) organizations in Saxony: Lausitz, Erzgebirge, Leipzig, Dresden and Chemnitz. We represent > 300 cultural and creative entrepreneurs/companies. Since 2017, we run the flagship project KREATIVES SACHSEN, the Saxon Center for Cultural and Creative Industries, providing consulting, qualification, networking and visibility for CCI. Moreover, we contributed scientific expertise to the CCI report in Dresden and the latest Saxon report about this most dynamic and innovative sector. We accompanied an Interreg project (InduCult 2.0) with expertise around the bottom-up development of brownfields and currently in InduCCI, an Interreg project about fostering CCI as a transformative force for economy and society in former industrial regions.
Within KREATIVES SACHSEN, we host workshops around participatory project development for new creative places to work, live and collaborate in rural areas. With our project “Workplaces of the future” we make existing creative spaces in the region visible.
There is a lack of organizational and expert knowledge, especially in “phase zero” of creative space projects within local administrations, the political decision makers and the creative entrepreneurs themselves. These new models often are approached in an isolationist manner that doesn’t consider the broader ecosystem for creative work within a community.
